  • ensuring safe, sustainable, accessible and healthy modes of transport across Surrey
  • defending our public services so that all Surrey residents have a good quality of life
  • working with honesty and transparency to the highest possible standards

Please support your Green candidate!

Farnham Central – Fiona Scimone

Fiona ScimoneI’m an artist, forest school practitioner and baker/co-founder of S Mary’s sourdough bakery. I’ve lived in this area all my life, attending Farnham Art school (UCA) and later teaching there, following in the footsteps of my grandmother.

I’d like the opportunity to take the longer view and to invest in initiatives that build strong community, well-being and improving people’s lives: good housing, local food growing schemes, clean air, healthy soil under our feet and ensuring strong protection for our wildlife and green spaces. Also, I want to support Farnham’s small independent businesses drawing on it’s roots as a craft town. I hope to help create a welcoming thriving place for everyone of all ages now and for the future.

Farnham North – David Benyon

David BenyonDave has been a resident of Folly Hill in Farnham since 2013 and is a father of two. He heads up the global digital team at a locally-based charity and wants to conserve our environment and increase transparency and oversight within our council.

Godalming North - James Coope

James CoopeJames has lived in Waverley for over 25 years, working in industry and then education relating to Sustainable Construction and the Built Environment. He keeps a keen eye on housing and social cohesion, especially relating to lowering costs in design and operation of houses.

James wants to investigate how to improve our governance, both as a Green Party Member and as a local who uses the utilities and services paid for by our ever-rising council taxes.

He would also like to improve local infrastructure for pedestrians, users of public transport, cyclists and drivers, and tackle broader issues such as resilience in local food production, our energy supply and the sustainable sourcing of fuels.

Haslemere - Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan TaylorJon has worked for over 25 years on environmental challenges in Britain and around the world, helping communities to adapt to a rapidly changing climate and to develop sustainably while protecting their natural heritage. He has lived in Haslemere for the past 7 years, and is passionate about Surrey maintaining its individual nature given its proximity to London, providing a safe and nurturing environment for families, a strong foundation for sustainable local businesses and jobs, and clean and reliable public transport.

Jon opposes rising populism and isolationism, austerity that hits those least able to bear it and the environmental hypocrisy of policies like airport expansion and fracking. He supports a hopeful, interconnected and sustainable future for Haslemere and for Surrey.
